BIJF SET TO RETURN LATE OCTOBER 2023

We are excited to announce that the Brisbane International Jazz Festival will return in 2023 showcasing concerts and workshops by local, interstate and international jazz performers at Queensland Ballet's newly renovated Thomas Dixon Centre on the 27th of October 2023. In addition to these feature events the festival will coordinate a number of umbrella events across Brisbane and Southern Queensland to illuminate the rich and diverse talent that Queensland has to offer.

BIJF was last successfully held in 2018 with the week-long festival featuring some of the greatest jazz musicians on earth (including Gretchen Parlato, Kenny Baron and KNOWER). After years of successful editions of the BIJF, our newly formed committee is reviving the festival after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a change in organisational structure. With the inception of a new committee formed under the initial guidance and support of founding Artistic Director Lynette Irwin (vale), BIJF will move into the future with a sustainable structure that is deeply entrenched in the local, Australia-wide, and international jazz scene. Please subscribe below to receive the latest updates and news from BIJF as they become available.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

The Brisbane International Jazz Festival acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which our festival takes place, the Jagera and Turrbal peoples of Meanjin. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, as well as to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Brisbane community and beyond. We are honoured to contribute to the rich history of music making and storytelling that has taken place on these lands for tens of thousands of years.
